Scene 1: U know there are these power cuts goin on in navi mumbai...so during one of these power cuts I saw two young shopkeepers (one owns an internet cafĂ© and another a renowned cake shop, both educated and young) playing cricket in the small space available to them between their shops. (They have just one shop in between their shops which was closed, so you can imagine how small the space will be to play cricket...say approx..10 to 12 feet). There was no wicket nothing…just two men playing cricket in whatever place they could get.
Scene 2: My dad had slip disk once and he was advised complete bed rest for a week. During that time I was passing by his bedroom. I saw him sitting right at the edge of bed and watching television. I thought may be theres some good ..movie going on ( or theres some sexy babe on screen). But no, there some match going with Sachin Tendulkar playing…I asked him…’Match this time..’ with a sad face he said..”this is the match where sachin got out in the ninetees for the third time....”.. I mean come one…like his own son got out at 99 or sumthing. You are sick you are suppose to be in bed. I told him why dont you lie down and see the match. He did lie down but with his eyes transfixed on television.
I don’t understand, what is it with men and cricket… especially Indian men and cricket. Be it any age...any match any country vs any country...Indian men are just obsessed with cricket…Its in their blood ….Mark my words twenty years hence scientists will discover a particular gene that is found only in Indian men that will relate their madness to cricket. Its like its passed on from father to son. I have not seen this madness any where else in the world. No matter how badly our cricket team performs our men just love cricket. Almost every man happens to be a cricket expert and ready to give our cricketers some valuable peace of advise…
That actually made me think…cricket can actually solve a lot of problems..
Lets take attrition for example ..atleast as far as the men are concerned.. If you are an HR professional in some company and you know few guys are going to put in their resignation .. u don’t have to do much…just remove the furniture of the conference room and lock these guys up there …with a few hard cardboard or plastic files and tennis balls. If you think the tennis balls will cause damage don’t worry plastic balls will do and that’s it..these guys will enter a state of INERTIA. You know what is inertia right.
in•er•tia :Physics The tendency of a body to resist acceleration; the tendency of a body at rest to remain at rest or of a body in straight line motion to stay in motion in a straight line unless acted on by an outside force.
Similarly these guys will go into a state of inertia…they will not leave the conference room unless and until external force is applied or when they are told to stop. This can be done till all the vacancies in other companies are filled and they have no choice to stay back in the same company. Besides who would want to leave a company which allows them to play cricket. So be innovative try and keep these male employees engaged…how about monthly cricket match….hmmm… a weekly cricket quiz....that will surely keep them on toes with every one trying to outdo each other with their cricket knowledge…. … just find some way to relate things in the office to cricket. You know offices have meeting rooms which are named after some one ,so as to identify them….rename all these meetings rooms on our beloved cricket players…guys will surely feel at home then…think I m sure there are many things that can be done…
Next problem, you heading for a divorce …going through a seven year hitch…your boy friend is not interested in you any more…guess what ..cricket can solve your problem..start talking cricket to your man..You have seen that new bank add..where the girl tries to impress her husband with her cricket knowledge and says..’’arre isko toh slice marna chahiye tha.’..and her husband looks at her dumbstruck…bas something like that..even if you don’t like cricket…even if you don’t know the difference between slip and gully…. even if you think that Yuvraj Singh and M S Dhoni are models and not cricketers ( coz they are seen and perform better in adds than on field).....just fake it….show some interest…common its not so difficult…the transition is easy from positions in bedroom to positions in cricket….and that’s it …he will keep correcting you and will come closer to you again….and then your man will be yours forever. Again …innovation is the key…think about different ways to relate cricket to your relationship…You have made a new dish which you want your man to like ..say its been given to you by a friend who works at TENDULKARS….or if you buy a new shirt..and you have the slightest inclination that your man’s not gonna like it…just say…you saw yuvraj singh wearing same kinda shirt in some add...
I know I know… there are gonna be a whole lot guys waiting to comment on this…bring them (in swingers, googlies) on machos...I am ready to field them all.

REGRET!!!!
Some times you make such blunders in your life....that it actually makes you think.......did I really just do that.....what was I thinking!!!!!I have just committed one such blunder and really cant believe i just did that.
In moments like these you try and trace time back wards ....and try and find out where things actually started going wrong....images are blurr...and you play and replay the whole thing again and again pin point the exact moment where things went wrong.... you wish you could turn back time....that very moment....you wish you had said something sensible or done something sensible...this is regret. You regret everything ...from being there at first place...to every thing...that you could possibly blame. And then you wish...that if at all you have done something wrong...GOD should punish you in any way other than this.
you know what things dont end there....even if try to rectify things....you end up doing some more blunders....as the murphy's law goes ....'if some thing has to go wrong it will go wrong'.
As of now I have tried to rectify...the blunder...and I just pray...that every thing goes well....
